Eco Ubuntu Project

On the 15th of January 2024 the official launch of the AFM Eco-Ubuntu project took place at Lumko Institute in Boksburg South Africa. This workshop served as the official launch of the Salesian AFM (Southern African) Province’s response to the Pope’s encyclical called Laudato sỉ as well as the Salesian General Chapter’s call for Province’s to be green compliant before the year 2032.

Distribution of food to 6,592 people, thanks to "Salesian Missions" (ANS - Johannesburg)

Aid to the most disadvantaged families and the hardest hit by the pandemic continues from “Salesian Missions”, the Salesian Mission Office of New Rochelle, United States. The latter, together with the Planning and Development Office in Johannesburg, South Africa, financed a food relief plan, thanks to which the Salesians were able to support 6,592 people in South Africa, Eswatini and Lesotho.
